Dare to be Different

Exploring our diversity - Chinese style

As part of our inquiry, Vincent was sharing with Room 12 the awesome Chinese writing he can do.  He taught us some colours and helped us practice counting 1-5.  We were really good at pronouncing one to three but apparently we need to practice how to say 4 and 5 a lot more!

Treasure Hunt for words that have 'ee' sound in them

We are learning how to identify the 'ee' sound in words.
We began our shared reading lesson by looking for 'ee' sounds in words around the school.
We took a mini-whiteboard to record our finds.

Reading - learning the 'ee' sound

In  Room 12 for reading we have been learning the 'ee' sound.  We discovered that there are six different ways the 'ee' sound can be represented!
Here they are:- e, ee, ea, ei, ie, y.

This is Alex showing all the 'ee' words that she could find in her reader 'Red Rattlers'.
A  job well done by all the children that had this task :-) .
